I have a heartfelt connection to the subjects I paint. An early love of horses and cowboys, several years living out west, and our current sheep farm are themes woven throughout my work. Large creatures carry a quiet sensitivity, and I have always loved observing them. My paintings portray both the emotional fragility and dynamic energy of life.
I work in oil paint, and my palette is earthy, greige, black and white. My subjects feel strongest to me when I carve out the essence of their form and leave details in darkness or washed away in light. I work with both hands, using brushes, palette knives, and scrapers.
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from Cazenovia College, Cazenovia, NY. I have worked as an artist in New York, Missouri, Colorado, and North Carolina. I have been a member of Pittsboro Gallery of Arts since 2023.
